Confusion over timings of government offices in Punjab with no fresh orders
Chandigarh, July 11 2021 : An extremely perplexed situation is prevailing amongst the government employees and officers of Punjab as no fresh order have been issued by the state government with regard to the timings of offices.
Notably, the state government had last week changed the office timings from 9am-5pm to 8am to 2 pm till July 10, 2021, in the wake of power crisis in the state. In these orders, the state government had also prohibited the use of Air Conditioners in government offices. Though the power crisis has not resolved in the state.
The government; however, on the expiry of the validity of these orders on Sunday didn’t issue any fresh order leading the government officers in a conendrum whether to attend their duties between earlier timings of 9am-5pm or the existing timings 8am to 2 pm. Severed officers in the evening resorted to social media to end this fuss. However, entire employees in the state have taken a mass leave against the contentuous 6th pay commission as a part of their ongoing protest against the recommendation of this Commission
