Compensate Farmers for loss of life and property : Mann asks PM
Phagwara, 19 November 2021 : Former Punjab Minister and Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Joginder Singh Mann today asked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to compensate farmers for loss of lives and property during the agitation.
In a statement issued here today, he said that due to arrogance of Modi government these draconian laws were thrusted upon people. He said hundreds of farmers had lost their lives during agitation and they need to be compensated. He said that the Prime Minister must announce a comprehensive relief package for farmers.
He said that the repealing of three farm laws is moral victory of people especially the farmers who had forced the Modi government to bow down. Citing examples of Pagri Sambhaal Lehar, Babbar Akali movement and others, he said that the farmers movement has emerged as a watershed movement of India for saving democracy. He said that this movement will ever inspire people to fight for their rights even if a tyrannical government is at helms of affairs.
He categorically said that this movement has started the downfall of arrogant Modi government. He said that the day is not far away when people will show door to this government and hand over the nation back to congress party. He said that Congress party has stood by the cause of the farmers during the entire agitation.
