COMMISSIONERATE POLICE CRACK ROBBERY INCIDENT OF KUKKI DHAB AREA, NABBED FOUR ACCUSED

Jalandhar, July 20 2021 : With the arrest of four accused involved in a robbery case, Commissionerate Police on Tuesday successfully solved the robbery incident that took place in the Kukki Dhab locality where a group of robbers had looted a family at gunpoint. The arrested accused have been identified as Rajan alias Raju, Harnoor Singh alias Noor both residents of Kot Sadiq, Deep Singh alias Deep and Navpreet Singh alias Abhi of village Hamirpur, Kartarpur. Whereas, raids were on to arrest the fifth accused Deepak alias Deepu, a resident of Kot Sadiq village.

Divulving the details, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that on July 14, 2021 a robbery incident was reported wherein robbers had taken the jewelry from a family. He added that a police party on July 19, 2021 during the checking had signaled all the four accused riding two-wheelers i.e. an Activa scooty and a Motorcycle CT 100, after watching the police party sought to escape the check-point.

The CP said that during the interrogation Navpreet Singh alias Abhi revealed that on July 14, 2021 his cousin Deep had received a phone call from Deepak alias Deepu of Kot Sadiq who asked him to get ready for a robbery incident in the city. Further, after the phone call, they all assembled at the canal of Kot Sadiq where Deepak alias Deepu did all the planning to execute robbery and asked all the accused to change their get up. The CP said the accused also revealed that after getting changed they all reached a sweet shot and bought a box of sweets and left for a colony, where Deepak alias Deepu along with a pistol entered in a house and then signaled other accused to come in. All of them robbed the old lady of her jewelry including two golden earrings, one nose ring, two bangles and a ring; then, ran away from the spot and again assembled at the canal of village Kot Sadiq where they changed their get up once again and returned to their homes. The accused Deepak alias Deepu kept the robbed jewelry with him and is still at large.

The CP said that the police would conclude the investigation of this case at the earliest so that speedy justice could be delivered to the victim’s family. Notably, an FIR u/s 454,380, 379-B, 452, and 120B of IPC in the Police station division No. 7 on July 14, 2021
