Chief Minister to formally inaugurate Malerkotla as district on June 7 instead of June 5: Deputy Commissioner
Malerkotla/Sangrur June 3, 2021: Ms. Amrit Kaur Gill, IAS, today has taken over the charge as Deputy Commissioner, Malerkotla, 23rd District of Punjab. Taking over the charge, Ms. Amrit Kaur Gill said that she would diligently fulfill the responsibility entrusted to her by the Punjab Government. She said that after the announcement of Malerkotla as a district, the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh would formally inaugurate Malerkotla as a district on June 7 instead of June 5. She said that the entire district administration of Malerkotla including the Deputy Commissioner, SSP and other officials were fresh appointees, hence this program was being put forward to ensure proper management.
Ms. Gill said she considers herself fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as the first Deputy Commissioner in the newly formed district on the historic land of Malerkotla. She said that the public welfare schemes of the Punjab government would be provided to the eligible beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner. She said that the problems of the public would be resolved on priority basis.
Ms. Amrit Kaur Gill is a 2010 batch IAS officer. Ms. Gill was earlier serving as Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib. Before assuming office, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Gill also paid obeisance at the historic Gurdwara Haa da Naara. On the occasion New SSP of Malerkotla Kanwardeep Kaur was also present on the occasion. Later SSP Kanwardeep Kaur also took over the charge at her office at Malerkotla.
On this occasion SSP Sangrur Vivek Sheel Soni, SDM Malerkotla T. Benith, Tehsildar Malerkotla Badaldin and other officials were present.
