BEGINS COVID IMMUNIZATION DRIVE AT HERO E-CYCLES
LUDHIANA, June 4 – Urging to make concentrated efforts and determined spirit to vaccinate all the entitled beneficiaries, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday asked all industries and corporate houses to vaccinate their workforce at the earliest to protect them against Covid-19. Launching an inoculation camp for below 45 inside premises of Hero E-Cycles Dhnansu, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that it is our collective responsibility to save the employees/workers from the onslaught of Covid-19 by administrating vaccine to them.
He said that this would further scale up coverage of the immunized population thus would lead to herd immunity and returning in happier days of normalcy soon. He said that this would also prevent any fresh wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that we all have to play a vital role in turning the vaccination drive into a mass movement and must give foremost priority to the health and safety of people from a deadly virus. Deputy Commissioner welcomed the move by Hero E-Cycles and other industries which took a keen interest in vaccinating their workforce.
He also asked the vaccinated employees of Hero E-cycle to sensitize others in their localities about the importance of the vaccine. He said that the vaccine would give them a shield against the contagion and even if they contract the infection due to their greater interaction job, it would be mild.
He stressed that the vaccine works like a seat belt as it saves the driver from any serious head injury; a major cause behind deaths in road mishaps, similarly the vaccine would prevent the severity and there would not be any need for hospitalization also. He said that the countries where the vaccination program carried out on a massive level reported very few cases of Covid in its second wave.
