ATHELETE AVANI LEKHARA WINS GOLD & SET A RECORD AT PARALYMPICS, B-TOWN SHOWERS CONGRATULATORY WISHES

New Delhi, August 30, 2021: After Tokyo Olympics 2020, Indian athletes are making the country proud at the ongoing Paralympics. Indian para athletes such as Bhavinaben Patel, Devendra Jhajharia and Vinod Kumar have won silver medals at the games. Now, shooter Avani Lekhara and discus thrower Yogesh Kathuniya have grabbed medals for the country. Avani became India’s first woman to win a gold at the games. Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan took to social media to congratulate her on achieving this feat.

And when it’s about celebrating countries proud moment B-Town celebs never lag behind in sharing these glee haps. Congratulating the athlete, Akshay Kumar took to his Instagram story to congratulate Avani Lekhara on becoming first Indian woman to win a gold medal at Paralympics. Sharing a photo of the shooter, he wrote, “Congratulations #AvaniLekhara for hitting the bulleye and creating history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a Paralympics gold medal. What a debut! #Paralympics #Tokyo2020 (sic).”

Abhishek Bachchan has been congratulating all the athletes winning medals for the country at the Tokyo Paralympics. Now, he has congratulated Avani Lakhera, who has won a gold medal at her Paralympic debut.

Sharing a photo of Avani, Abhishek wrote, “A gold-en moment for India! Hats off @AvaniLekhara on becoming the first Indian woman to win gold at #TokyoParalympics #Paralympics #ShootingParaSport (sic).”

He also tweeted congratulating discus thrower Yogesh Kathuniya on winning silver. He wrote, “India is truly on a roll! Proud of #YogeshKathuniya for winning silver at #TokyoParalympics #Paralympics (sic).

Avani Lekhara scripted history on Monday (August 30) as she became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal at the Paralympics, firing her way to the top of the podium in the R-2 women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event.
