(Rajinder Kumar) Chandigarh, 09 October 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday introduced Entrepreneurship Mindset Course (EMC) to make the state a land of job givers instead of job seekers.

Addressing the gathering, Arvind Kejriwal said that for 17 long years a student contributes to education adding that the aim of education should be that he should be able to earn bread for family, he should be a good citizen of the country and society. However, he bemoaned that unfortunately a student after completing his education fails to do all the three for which the education system of the British era is responsible. The National Convener of AAP said that the British developed the education system to produce clerks adding that unfortunately the same thing has been continued after independence.

Arvind Kejriwal said that no one wants to come out of their comfort zone and adopt challenges. However, he said that this course will break this jinx and the youth will contribute significantly in socio-economic development of the state and country. The National Convener of AAP also said that this course will also give dreams to the youth as they will dream about an idea and ability to develop it and prosper.

Arvind Kejriwal said that the students should be motivated to produce the best things and brands adding that this passion will help them to excel across the globe. He said that Punjabis are the born entrepreneurs and this course will be helpful in harnessing their potential. The National Convener of AAP said that the App has a huge potential adding that success of this app will make India a superpower as through this we will be able to compete with global economies like China.

Arvind Kejriwal said that Punjab has become the first state in the country to introduce Entrepreneurship Mindset Course (EMC) at the higher education level, marking a historic leap forward in education. He said that from the academic year 2025–26, the course will be implemented in universities, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and polytechnic colleges across the state. The National Convener of AAP said that for the 2025–26 academic year, the course will be mandatory for students pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), and Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) programs.

Arvind Kejriwal said that from the 2026–27 academic year, this course will be linked to all other degree programs and the course will be mandatory in every semester, enabling each student to learn how to conduct business practically. He said that this AI-based, multilingual (Punjabi/Hindi/English) digital platform will guide, support, and monitor students, helping every graduate become a job creator instead of a job seeker. The National Convener of AAP said that with the launch of this Entrepreneurship Course, 1.5 lakh students will not just study but they will become entrepreneurs.

Arvind Kejriwal said that during the 2025–26 academic year, the course will be introduced in 20 government and private universities, 320 ITIs, and 91 polytechnic colleges, covering 1.5 lakh students adding that by the 2028–29 academic year, the course will reach 5 lakh students across Punjab. He said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Punjab is the first Indian state to make this course compulsory on such a large scale. The National Convener of AAP said that this initiative will encourage the growth of small enterprises and rural startups.

Arvind Kejriwal said that in countries like the USA, the UK, Germany, France, and Japan, around 72% of GDP comes from entrepreneurial and business activities.He said that through the Entrepreneurship Mindset Course (EMC), students will learn communication skills, financial management, budgeting, marketing, and business operations. The National Convener of AAP said that this training will enable students to start their own ventures and generate employment opportunities for others.

Meanwhile, in his address the Chief Minister said that this is the new model of the emerging world and is aimed at providing real knowledge to the people. He said that this is personality development along with ideas generation amongst the youth adding that it will pave the way for making Punjab as a hub of business ideas and commerce. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that today the powerful nations of the world are fighting over apps which show the power of ideas.

The Chief Minister said that there is no dearth of talent in the state as 45% of engineers in Boing are from the state. He said that these youngsters possess inherent qualities to excel in every field and their capabilities must be utilized properly. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the students and youth are like planes and the state government will provide them a launch pad to go ahead in life.

The Chief Minister unequivocally said that he won’t rest until the students of Punjab don’t achieve their desired goals. He exhorted the youth to stay grounded even after achieving huge success in life and believe in hard work as it is the sole key to success. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed to giving impetus to the development of the state and prosperity of its people.

The Chief Minister said that hard work is the only key to success and youth should not shy away from it adding that the state government will always support them for their noble ideas. Bhagwant Singh Mann envisioned that this course will further put the state on the path of high trajectory of economic growth.

The Chief Minister said that for the first time, an initiative is being taken to guide the youth. He said that earlier, politics was merely played as a game and people were misled by the leaders adding that afraid of drug menace parents used to send their children abroad. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that at one time, only 33 percent of seats in colleges and universities were filled but ever since he has assumed charge of office, the admission rate is at 100 percent.

The Chief Minister said that the land of Punjab is sacred, fertile and blessed adding that every child has thoughts and ideas. However, he bemoaned that they do not always get the opportunity to express themselves. But, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that with the launch of this Entrepreneur Course, young people will now be able to give wings to their dreams.

Around the world, the Chief Minister said that revolutions are taking place through new ideas. He said that especially in this age of information technology, new ideas are very important. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now, the time for traditional methods in education are over and the youth have to think out of the box.

In his address senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that it is a historic occasion for the entire world as it will make Business class mandatory for the students. He said that everyone pursues education so that he can stand on their own feet. Manish Sisodia said that every year, one and a half crore students complete their graduation degrees, but only 15 lakh of them get jobs adding that many of the remaining students end up going down the wrong path.

Senior AAP leader said that if we do not provide the right employment opportunities to our children, it means our education system is not working properly. He said that today’s course is a unique program that includes AI technology and other tools adding that this course will enable every young person to learn how to earn while studying. Manish Sisodia said that it will help reduce unemployment and secure the future of our youth adding that the need of the hour is to become a country of job providers instead of job seekers, otherwise we will remain a developing nation.

On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, senior AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and others were also present.
