ADMINISTRATION ROPES IN ASHA AND ANM WORKERS TO REACH OUT PWDs FOR INOCULATION: DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

Jalandhar, July 10 2021 : More than 500 specially-abled beneficiaries have been inoculated at homes on Saturday alone under the special vaccination drive initiated by the district administration Jalandhar, said Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori while asking health and civil officials to accomplish this mammoth task within the stipulated time-frame.

Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration has roped in Asha and ANM workers to carry out this task effectively so that no eligible beneficiaries would be left out without vaccination under this special drive. He added that the list of specially-abled persons has been shared with all the SMOs so that they can chalk out a comprehensive strategy to reach each one of them for the inoculation. Mr. Thori mentioned that all the Asha and ANM workers are visiting door to door to trace the eligible beneficiaries and after verifying their credentials they share the details with the medical teams, which subsequently reach on the spot to vaccinate the beneficiaries.

The DC stated that specially-abled beneficiaries can seek inoculation facilities at their doorsteps by dialing helpline number 0181-2224417. He reiterated district administration’s commitment to covering every eligible beneficiary under the vaccination drive adding that the Sub Divisional Magistrates have been monitoring the progress of this campaign in their respective jurisdictions. He said that more than 100 beneficiaries have been covered in Phillaur, Shahkot and Nakodar sub divisions.

Pointing out further, Senior Medical Officer Jamsher Dr. R.P. Bains said that as many as 180 specially-abled beneficiaries have been given the doses of Covid-19 vaccine at their home in the last two days. He added that the list of such eligible beneficiaries was provided by the administration and all the listed persons were being approached by the health teams.

Similarly, Senior Medical Officer Adampur Dr. Reema stated that the health teams have inoculated around 290 specially-abled beneficiaries at their homes on Saturday alone while maintaining proper protocol as fixed by the state government. “our teams are frequently visiting every single specially-abled beneficiary so that no one remains without the vaccine shot as directed by the Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori”, she added.
