About 2,379 Cases Disposed of during National Lok Adalat in Patiala District

Patiala, July 1 2021 : As many as 2379 cases were resolved during the National Lok Adalat held,today, in Patiala district. There were 23 judicial benches in the district (15 Patiala, 02 Nabha, 04 Rajpura and 02 Samana) which took up 5104 cases for hearing, said District and Sessions Judge, Rajinder Aggarwal.
He said that an award money worth Rs. 38,57,67,973 was passed during the settlement of these cases. He said the National Lok Adalat was specifically reviewed by the Executive Chairman of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mr Justice Ajay Tewari, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, who visited Lok Adalat benches of Patiala court and inspired the parties to resolve their disputes amicably by taking recourse to this National Lok Adalat.
During this Lok Adalat, before the bench headed by Sh.R.K.Jain, Additional District and Sessions Judge, in civil appeal titled as “Dhanwant Singh Vs. M/s. R.K. Bricks Industries”, an 11 years old dispute between a farmer and brick kiln owner was resolved.
Similarly, before the same bench, in a rent appeal titled as “Zora Singh Vs. Rajinder Kumar” a more than 7 years old dispute has been settled. Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, Mohali, Arun Gupta and Additional Member Secretary Dr. Mandeep Mittal, also accompanied by Mr Justice Ajay Tewari, added, CJM, Ms Parminder Kaur, Secretary, DLSA, Patiala.
