TEN MORE PSA BASED OXYGEN PLANTS TO COME UP IN JALANDHAR : DC
Jalandhar, 31 July 2021 : District Jalandhar is all set to become self-reliant in terms of oxygen generation as ten more private hospitals are in the process of installing PSA based oxygen plants in their premises.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that ten hospitals including Sharanjit Hospital, Sikka Hospital, Kidney Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, Gulab Devi Hospital, Sarvodya Hospital, Johal Hospital, Jammu Hospital, Innocent Hearts Hospital, Neuro Nova Hospital, Caremax Hospital, Oxford Hospital, and Ghai Hospital, have ordered PSA based oxygen generation plants. He stated that the new plants would cater to the needs of healthcare institutions enabling them to be self-reliant in terms of oxygen production.
The DC further added that three new oxygen plants were being set up at government establishments including Civil Hospital, Basti Gujan CHC, and Nakodar, which would further strengthen the capabilities of government-run healthcare institutions. He said that after installation of these new oxygen plants the medical oxygen generation capacities of the district would increase massively as minimum and maximum O2 production capacity of these plants would be ranging from 250 to 750 LPMs.
Mr. Thori added that a mammoth exercise was launched a few months back to increase the oxygen generation capacity of the district after experiencing O2 crisis during the second wave. He said that several hospitals including Shriman Super Speciality, NHS, New Ruby, Armaan, Rattan, Joshi, Global, Tagore, Patel, Capitol Hospital, and PIMS, while acceding to the appeals of district administration have already installed their plants. He mentioned that this initiative would go a long way to manage next waves efficiently with hospitals having their own oxygen production as they would not have to rely on supplies from other states.
The DC lauded the efforts of private hospitals who have expressed solidarity with the district administration in the ongoing battle against the Covid-19 pandemic by installing such plants, adding that remaining hospitals should also emulate this practice.
