ADMINISTRATION GEARS UP FOR MEGA JOB FAIR WITH 15K JOBS ON CARDS
Jalandhar, 26 August 2021 : Gearing up for the 7th mega job fair, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Thursday reviewed preparedness for the one of the biggest placement drive in the district under Ghar Ghar Rozgar & Karobar Mission.
Chairing a meeting with the representatives of several departments, the DC said that as many as 15000 jobs would be offered to unemployed youths during the series of placement camps next month.
He asked the officials of Induatries & Factories department to arrange massive employment opportunities for the drive by roping in concerned employers so that collateral benefit of industry and unemployed youths was ensured. He further added that all potential job opportunities be checked and placed in the camps.
Thori said that on September 9, Job fair would be held at Guru Nanak College Nakodar, on September 10 at District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise, Jalandhar, on September 13 at CT Group of Institute Shahpur, on September 15 at Janta College Kartarpur, and on September 17 at BDPO office Bhogpur.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner asked the BDPOs and SDMs to plan such camps in their respective jurisdictions to facilitate rural folks with employment opportunities at their doorsteps.
The DC envisioned that mega job fairs being organized by the state government would act as a catalyst to open new vistas of employment for the youth of the district. He said that this was a noble initiative by the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to provide jobs to every household under the Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna.
He said that these job fairs would open a number of avenues for the youth to be gainfully employed for living a life with dignity and pride. He said that the companies would select these students as per their need in due course of time. On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Himanshu Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Bains, Deputy Director Employment Generation Mr. Jaswant Rai, and others were also present.
