Herbal Garden Inauguration in Govt. Bikram College
Patiala, 11 August 2021 : Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala kicked off the plantation drive by inaugurating the herbal garden on its college premises on 10-08-2021. The garden was inaugurated by the plantation of the lemon plant by Sh. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, PCS, Dy. Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab & AETC, Taxation Deptt., Punjab, Patiala. He lauded the efforts of college Principal, staff & students for carrying out the rich legacy of this prestigious college towards environment protection.
This event was jointly conducted by the NSS Department and Environment & Ecological Society under the supervision of the college Principal (Prof) Dr. Kusum Lata. Ms. Kritika Arora, Manager SBI gave an indispensable contribution for these plants. On this occasion, the staff members Dr. Vaneeta Rani, Prof. Ram Kumar, Smt. Charanjit Kaur, NSS Programme Officer Dr. Jyoti Tirthani, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Convenor Ecological Society, Smt. Satinder Kaur, Smt. Kiranjit Kaur, Sh. Balbir Singh were also present. On this eve 34 herbal saplings of 11 types were also planted in the campus by the students.
