2000 POLICE PERSONNEL TO KEEP VIGIL DURING DUSSEHRA CELEBRATIONS : CP GURPREET SINGH BHULLAR
Ludhiana, 14 October 2021 : Commissioner of Police (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar on Thursday said that around 2000 Police personnel would keep a strict vigil during the celebrations of Dussehra on Friday in the city.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that effigy of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbkaran would be consigned to flames at 23 places under Commissionerate police’s jurisdiction and elaborate security arrangements have been put in place at all these sites. He said that additional force from Punjab Police Academy Phillaur has also been deputed in the city.
While visiting some of the locations in sector-39 Chandigarh road, Daresi and other areas, CP reiterated the firm commitment of the Commissionerate Police to maintain law at every cost and said that the sole aim of inspecting the arrangements was to make the security system more responsive and efficient.
He assured the people that fool proof security cover had already been put in place in the city and no one would be allowed to take the law in its hands. He categorically said that any kind of laxity in this task would be dealt with heavy hands.
Meanwhile, the CP also held meeting at the sites with the GO rank officials and asked them to ensure round the clock patrolling at these places. He said police teams/PCR staff have been monitoring and patrolling in these areas round the clock as these places would witness high footfall.
