Mann Government Wins Investors’ Trust: Punjab Seals ₹1,700 Crore Investments at South India Roadshows

Being ranked a “Top Achiever” in the 2024 Business Reforms Action Plan highlights the state’s good governance, surplus power, and quick approval processes. Industries Minister Anmol Gagan Maan’s South India Roadshow promoted Mohali as an IT hub, while southern companies were impressed by Punjab’s transparent business environment. Preparations for the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026 aim to generate more jobs and opportunities for youth. This success strengthens Punjab’s image as a confident, investor-friendly destination on the national economic map.

The Hyderabad roadshow attracted investments in mobility, defence, aerospace, food processing, and healthcare sectors. Companies like Continental Energy, Gautam Adani Industrial Gases, Ramky Group, Aditya Birla Gases, and BEL held detailed discussions. Punjab Development Commission and Invest Punjab showcased the Right to Business Act and the Fast-Track Portal. The state’s surplus power makes it ideal for data centres, reflecting the Chief Minister’s vision. These interactions are expected to reshape Punjab’s industrial landscape and strengthen the state economy.

In the Chennai roadshow, major companies such as HCL, Cognizant, Larsen & Toubro, Global Logic, Virtusa, Rathra Group, and Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital participated. Discussions covered food processing, digital transformation, clean mobility, and Murugappa Group’s interest in Punjab’s governance model. Murugappa praised the transparent administration and explored opportunities in electric mobility in Mohali, Ludhiana, and Rajpura. Bahwan CyberTek described Punjab as the “Northern Tech Destination” due to its strong digital ecosystem. These collaborations will position Punjab as a hub for sustainable technologies and promote environmental protection. Minister Arora said the roadshows led to investment commitments worth ₹1,700 crore and boosted job creation. The Right to Business Act and Fast-Track Portal have simplified approvals, and Invest Punjab is preparing for another outreach drive ahead of the grand 2026 summit. Smart cities and industrial corridors are encouraging youth entrepreneurship, while government policies are helping small businesses grow and ensuring inclusive economic progress.

The delegation also visited Greenko Group to discuss large-scale manufacturing collaborations. Greenko’s green energy goals align with Punjab’s sustainable policies. Talks with BrahMos Aerospace focused on MSME partnerships to strengthen the defence sector. Subsidy and credit guarantee schemes are drawing investors and giving new momentum to Ludhiana’s growth. Such collaborations will connect Punjab’s MSMEs with global markets and increase export potential.

In the evening session, representatives from Dr. R. Partha Saradhi Reddy (NIPER Mohali), Linde India, Hartex, and ICAI participated. They appreciated Punjab’s progress in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. NIPER is emerging as a leading research hub, while vocational training is making the youth industry-ready. These sessions are laying the foundation for networking and joint projects, strengthening Punjab’s innovation ecosystem.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government is equally focused on farmer welfare and industrial growth. The state’s self-sufficiency in power and focus on green energy ensure environmental protection. The collaboration between North and South India stands as a symbol of national unity. The Digital Single Window System has empowered startups, turning Punjab into a truly investor-friendly state.
